How to Meditate With ADHD

While meditation can be challenging for any beginner, meditating with ADHD can feel impossible. This is because executive function — working memory, cognitive flexibility, and inhibition control — is a key part of our brain that gets exercised when we meditate. People with ADHD have compromised executive function, which can make meditation especially difficult. However, while meditation requires executive function, it also strengthens executive function, making it (perhaps ironically) one of the best known treatments for ADHD.
